In this role, you will support the development, deployment, and maintenance of valve actuators installed aboard current and future US Navy Destroyers, Frigates, Submarines, and Aircraft Carriers.Tri‑Tec is seeking a Mid to Senior Embedded Software Firmware Design Engineer with seven to ten years of experience developing embedded systems for electromechanical products in an R and D environment. This role requires strong embedded‑software capability, hands‑on electrical and PCB‑level knowledge, and the ability to design and implement sensor‑data processing functions that support advanced actuator control.You will collaborate with Senior Electrical, Software, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineers to design, implement, troubleshoot,validate, andmaintainembedded software and firmware for valve actuators installed aboard current and future United States Navy Destroyers, Frigates, Submarines, and Aircraft Carriers. Responsibilities include embedded‑control development, sensor‑data acquisition and processing, communication‑interface implementation, and system‑level integration.Additionalresponsibilities include participation in configuration management, testing, qualification, and continuous improvement of both legacy and newly developed software. You will contribute to innovative and patentable technologies and support all phases of product development within a small, highly collaborative engineering team.RequirementsSeven to ten years of embedded‑software design experienceFluency in the C programming languageExperience writing code for embedded microprocessors and microcontrollersStrong understanding of debugging fundamentals and use of debugging toolsExperience developing sensor‑data acquisition pipelines and implementing sensor‑data processing algorithms for embedded systemsStrong electrical and PCB‑level knowledge suitable for an R and D environment including schematic interpretation, signal‑integrity considerations, and hardware bring‑upUnderstanding of standard communication protocols and microcontroller peripherals including GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART RS‑232 and RS‑485, CAN, timers, counters, PLLs, reset generators, clocking, power management, ADCs, and PWMAbility to work collaboratively to solve complex engineering problemsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering(preferred), Computer Engineering(second), Computer Science(third)Preferred ExperienceNXP ARM processorDesigning/testingto the requirements of quality and reliability standards such asDO-178, SS-473Fieldbus (Profibus,Modbus)Salary $125, 000-$140,000Full benefits - medical, dental, vision and prescription drugsThank you for your interest in Tri-Tec Manufacturing.
