We are looking for an Embedded Systems Electrical Engineer. This position will be based in Peachtree Corners GA. In this role, you will develop, test, and validate embedded firmware for advanced power electronics applications, including AC and DC solid-state breaker technologies. You will work closely with firmware, software, hardware, and test engineering teams to gather requirements, implement firmware functionality, troubleshoot hardware/software integration challenges, and support hands-on lab validation. You'll make a difference by: Writing, debugging, and optimizing embedded software in C/C++ for 32-bit microcontrollers and digital signal processors used in power electronics applications. Configuring and initializing hardware peripherals such as PWM, ADC, SPI, and UART using vendor development environments including TI Code Composer Studio, Microchip MPLAB X, and STM32CubeIDE. Implementing, testing, and debugging industrial, network, and IoT communication protocols, including CAN bus, Modbus TCP, and MQTT. Developing bare-metal or RTOS-based firmware to control semiconductor-based hardware architectures, monitor system health, and support fault detection. Conducting hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of prototype boards in a power electronics laboratory environment using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, programmable power supplies, and electronic loads. Managing source code using Git version control and supporting structured development workflows, including branch management, build processes, and CI/CD pipeline integration. Collaborating with firmware, software, hardware, and test engineering teams to transition prototypes into production-ready designs while documenting test procedures, communication interface specifications, build results, and components.
