Texas Instruments is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defense Embedded Systems team in Dallas, Texas. You will lead the development of advanced firmware and embedded software for next-generation radar, electronic warfare, and communications systems. This role combines low-level firmware optimization with system-level architecture, working at the intersection of high-speed data acquisition, DSP algorithms, and heterogeneous processor platforms. You have the ability to showcase advanced A&D capabilities on cutting-edge processors and FPGAs.
Responsibilities:
Firmware & Embedded Software Development
Design and implement high-performance firmware for RF data pipelines.
Knowledge of DSP concepts (filters, matrix math, digital beam forming, equalization, channelization, etc.).
Develop and optimize PCIe, JESD204, and Ethernet drivers.
Port and benchmark RF signal processing algorithms.
System Architecture, Design, and Collaboration
Collaborate with RF and hardware teams to define system architectures for data synchronization and AESA timing.
Translating FPGA functions to hard macros for ASIC implementation with attention to latency, throughput, and phase noise.
Influence next-generation platform roadmap based on implementation learnings from demonstrator work.
Co-develop competitive solutions with customer engineers and field applications engineers, demonstrating comfort with change and uncertainty.
Ability to teach and influence others.
Board Bring-Up & Evaluation Support
Lead or support PCB/FPGA/processor board bring-up and initial integration testing.
Prepare technical documentation and demonstrate system capabilities to internal and external stakeholders.
