JobSummary:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering enhanced 9-1-1 emergency and non- emergencycallsforpublicsafetyservices;radiodispatchingofSheriff,StatePolice,FireandEMS units, and Animal Control Units; operating a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System; in-depth interactionwithDMV/NCIC/VCINsystems.Clearlyand conciselycommunicatingwithcitizens, deputies, other police officers, and county, state, and federal authorities on a one-to-one basis throughavarietyofmeans(radio,telephone,andteletype).Reading,following,andunderstanding writtenproceduresandtechnicalmanualswhichrelatetotheradios,computers,TDDlinesand9- 1-1 emergency systems.Ability to prioritize multiple calls in order of severity. File and record maintenance, filing alphabetically and chronologically, quality monitoring and review of all maintained warrants for complete information and accuracy, random reviews of CAD entries for correct information, qualityassurance of all Communications Procedures and Policies for overall consistency, equipment monitoring, special projects, coverage for sick or vacation days, and performs other work as required.
Working(sitting)longhourswhileunderemotionalstress.Worksascheduleof12hoursrotating betweendayshift(7:00a.m.to7:00p.m.)andeveningshift(7:00p.m.to7:00a.m.)every28days.

Must pass NCIC background check, has general computer skills and abilities, professional, efficient and organized, experienced with office processes, able to handle sensitive and/or explicatematerialinamatureandconfidentialmanner,possessesexcellentpublicrelationsskills, hastheabilitytomanage,initiate,performand/oroverseemultipletasksaccuratelyand
consistently,hastheabilitytoprioritizeworkassignmentsalongwithimmediateunexpected requests for assistance.
Educationand Experience:
HighSchool graduateorequivalent.Noexperience necessary.
