Emergency Department Head (DVM) – Sugar Land, TX

A veterinary specialty and emergency hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Head (DVM) to lead its emergency services team. This position combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities and is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about emergency medicine, team development, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat emergency and critical care cases

• Perform emergency medical procedures and patient stabilization

• Mentor and support veterinarians, technicians, and support staff

• Assist with scheduling and departmental workflow management

• Develop and implement medical protocols and best practices

• Promote continuous improvement in patient outcomes and client service

• Participate in leadership meetings and hospital initiatives

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution

• Active veterinary license in good standing

• Emergency medicine experience preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Ability to manage a diverse and fast-paced caseload

• Commitment to excellence in patient care and team development
