A Day in the Life of an Emergency Dept Technician (EMT)

In the Emergency Department Technician role, you will administer essential medical treatments and personal care under the guidance of registered nurses, tailored to patients across all age groups from newborns to adults. Your duties involve not just medical care but also vital clerical and communication responsibilities, ensuring information flows efficiently in high-stress scenarios. Frequent interaction with a diverse group of staff, patients, and visitors requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Technicians must maintain and organize supplies, manage equipment, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in patient areas. Your role is pivotal in facilitating the smooth operation of the emergency department through both direct patient care and supportive administrative tasks.

Education and Experience

Required

  • American Heart Association BLS provider or instructor-level certification within 30 days of hire
  • Current EMT-B or Intermediate certification from the State of Minnesota EMSRB or Minnesota LPN license
  • Previous emergency department, EMT or LPN experience

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is listed above. Actual pay rate offered is determined based on experience in this role. Please be sure to include all applicable experience in your application.
