Job Description

Hospital Emergency Manager

The Hospital Emergency Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the hospital"s emergency preparedness and response programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinates training and exercises, and collaborates with internal departments and external agencies to enhance the hospital's ability to respond to and recover from emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the hospital's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, ASPR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Plan and execute emergency preparedness training and exercises.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies and healthcare coalitions.
  • Lead the hospital's Incident Command System (ICS) during activations.
  • Manage emergency communication systems, including mass notification and radio systems.
  • Assist in surge planning, patient movement coordination, and disaster recovery efforts.
  • Evaluate after-action reports and improve response plans accordingly.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor"s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience
