With the Emergency Medical Services program, students acquire the skills to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics who provide out-of-hospital care to the critically ill and injured. EMT's and Paramedics must be capable of functioning with authority and good judgment in a variety of circumstances under difficult and stressful conditions, and must be caring persons with the desire to help others.
The Emergency Medical Services program is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face at our downtown Dayton campus. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
- Must be a licensed Ohio Paramedic required
- Must be Ohio licensed Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I or II
- AHA ACLS Instructor preferred
- AHA CPR Instructor preferred
- Must have at least 2 years of paramedic level patient care experience required
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
