General Description:
Under the general supervision of the Emergency Department (ED) Manager, Director of Emergency Services, Provider, and the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic is responsible for the provision of care for the assigned ED patients. This employee has access to medication storage areas, may receive, deliver and store medications. The EMT/Paramedic participates with the RN in planning, coordinating and implementing the plan of care to ensure quality, appropriateness, timeliness and effectiveness of services rendered.

EMT:
EMT Florida State Certification and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians required
Basic Life Saving (BCLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Advanced and Pediatric Life Saving (ACLS & PALS) certification, preferred
Paramedic:
Paramedic State of Florida Certification
Basic Life Saving (BCLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Advanced and Pediatric Life Saving (ACLS & PALS) certification, preferred
