Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Medical Vehicle Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our healthcare team. The Mobile Medical Vehicle EMT will play a crucial role in delivering healthcare services to patients in the field by providing medical care and support from our medical services vehicle. This person will serve as the “in-the-field” team lead for the Mobile Medical team (i.e., driver, lab tech). The ideal candidate for this role is a high-energy, autonomous, self-starter who works efficiently, has a welcoming attitude and is energized by helping others. This position requires expertise in conducting physical exams, effective communication, a strong commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepare the mobile unit for daily patient visits.
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient history.
- Perform intake assessments within scope of training.
- Assist provider with exams and minor procedures.
- Conduct point-of-care testing (strep, flu, COVID, etc.).
- Support medication preparation and administration as directed.
- Provide patient and caregiver education as instructed.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control within the vehicle.
- Restock supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
- Follow proper biohazard disposal procedures.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance in home settings.
- Report safety concerns immediately.
- Provide compassionate care to children and families.
- Maintain professional demeanor in residential environments.
- Communicate clearly with supervising provider and team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Emergency Medical Technician certification required.
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergent care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- EVOC certification required
- High comfort level and/or willingness to work in a mobile medical vehicle environment daily.
- Bilingual English / Spanish fluency preferred.
