Position Overview
Inhospital Physicians is actively recruiting Emergency Medicine physicians for Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. This is a busy community ED with strong APP support, solid acuity, and leadership focused on growth and performance.
This role is ideal for physicians who want consistent volume, team support, and the opportunity to grow within a multi-site system.
Position Highlights
- 1099 independent contractor role
- 12-hour shifts
- Full-time: 120 hours/month
- Competitive hourly compensation (Kansas rate)

Clinical Environment
- ~50–65 patients per day
- ~10–15 admissions per day
- Moderate acuity with strong core EM case mix

Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage a wide range of emergency conditions
- Stabilize patients and coordinate admissions with hospitalists
- Supervise APPs and maintain efficient patient flow
- Initiate transfers for specialty care when needed
- Document care in Epic (Dragon dictation available)
Qualifications
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred)
- Will consider ABFM with 2+ years of Emergency Medicine experience or EM fellowship training
- Active or eligible for Kansas medical license (IMLC eligible preferred)
- Comfortable with moderate acuity and performance expectations
- Ability to work in a team-based, APP-supported model
Key Considerations
- Throughput and admission expectations are a focus
- No cath lab on-site
- No intensivist coverage
- Catholic hospital system (certain procedures not performed)
