Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our hospital-employed Emergency Department team. This opportunity offers strong clinical support, consistent coverage, and the ability to practice in a community-focused emergency medicine setting.

Emergency Department Highlights

  • Annual ED volume: ~30,000 visits
  • 12-bed Emergency Department
  • 24-hour physician coverage (two 12-hour shifts)
  • 24-hour APC coverage (two 12-hour shifts)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions
  • Provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care in a moderate-volume ED
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialty consultants
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
  • Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Current New Mexico medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
