Job Summary:

Mission Health, partnered with TeamHealth, is seeking experienced physicians to join a highly skilled team within our state-of-the-art facility in Asheville, North Carolina.

About the Emergency Department:
  • 94-bed ED
  • Annual ED visits: 100,000+
  • Daily APC coverage
  • EMR: Cerner FirstNet
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Dedicated Pediatric ED
  • 1.7 - 2.1 patients per hour
  • Academic Affiliation: Yes, EM residents
The ED team is organized into pods based on acuity, allowing for a smooth workflow and efficient patient care. Our physicians work closely with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule
  • Shifts: 8 – 9 hours shifts
  • No call
  • Malpractice: Coverage with tail

Additional Facilities:
Mission Hospital’s team also supports other regional facilities, including Mission Hospital McDowell, Angel Medical Center, Transylvania Regional Hospital, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, South Asheville FSED and Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. While the primary location is Mission Hospital, physicians may have PRN privileges at these additional sites.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine
  • Strong clinical skills and judgment
