- Support Staff Available: Standard ED nursing and support staff
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Credentialing Timeline: 60 days
- Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (with active LA license)
REQUIRED PROCEDURES- Standard Emergency Medicine procedures (suturing, wound care, intubation, conscious sedation)
- CT scan interpretation
- Ultrasound
- MRI and Nuclear Medicine interpretation (as needed)
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Board: BC in EM/FM/IM
- Licenses: Active LA License required (IMLC accepted)
- DEA / CDS: Active DEA required
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS & PALS required for FM/IM candidates
- Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM required
- Other Qualifications: Clean background and compliance with credentialing requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a 5-bed ED within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital.
- Manage and stabilize acute medical conditions, trauma, and cardiac emergencies.
- Interpret diagnostic studies including CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
- Coordinate with specialty backup (ICU, Radiology) for patient admissions and transfers.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Ochsner EPIC EMR.
