Job Title: Emergency Department Physician Assistant - Regular Part Time (RPT)
Department: Emergency
Reports To: Director, Emergency Department

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Department team. In this fast-paced role, you’ll provide critical care to patients of all ages, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. What You'll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive medical screening exams on patients of all ages
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests

  • Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate therapies

  • Provide wound care including suturing, incision and drainage, and splinting

  • Manage minor orthopedic emergencies such as joint dislocations and fractures

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff in patient care

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

  • Admit patients requiring inpatient care and coordinate specialty referrals as needed

 

What You Need:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited PA program

  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Nebraska

  • Current NCCPA certification

  • Current ACLS certification

  • Certification in either NRP or PALS

  • Proof of having “monitored” an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course (required for Emergency Department coverage)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in an acute care setting
