As an academic health system, Cooper’s physicians serve as faculty for Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) teaching the next generation of medical professionals and advancing care and research. Annually, there are more than 2.4 million patient visits (and patients from all 50 states and 35 countries) to Cooper University Health Care hospitals and physician offices.
The Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) at Cooper University Health Care is a dynamic clinical department that provides high quality patient-centric emergency care to our community. As part of CUES (Center for Emergent and Urgent Services) for Cooper, we have an expansive clinical, educational, and research-based focus. Our education team trains 39 EM residents, 2 EMS fellows, one education fellow and one ultrasound fellow in addition to teaching a highly rated required 4th year clerkship for every Cooper Medical School of Rowan University student. The service lines have expanded to include: 3 urgent care sites, pediatric EM, EMS, toxicology, ultrasound, collaboration with addiction medicine/pain management, high quality research/grants, geriatric EM and disaster medicine.
