Job Overview
Fairview is looking for an Emergency Room Technician (ERT) to join our ED team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank) in Minneapolis, MN.
The Emergency Room Technician (ERT) assists the professional nurse in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and managing supplies. Depending on unit needs and the discretion of the professional nurse, the ERT may be assigned patient care responsibilities.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.60 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hour evening 7pm-3:30am shifts with an every other weekend rotation.
Job Expectations:
Provides patient care:
Documents patient care activities and procedures on the nursing records.
Maintains room/unit and supplies
Performs quality control checks on designated pieces of equipment
Required Qualifications (Must have BLS certification and ONE of the following):
Current EMT or ERT certification
Current Paramedic certification
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the MN Registry
Enrolled in an LPN, RN, or NP program (with at least 1 completed clinical semester)
Six months of recent hands-on patient care experience (acute, long-term, or home care)
Completed Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program
LPN licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of Emergency Department experience (EMT, ERT, paramedic, scribe, etc.)
Current experience as a CNA or NST
