    Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments for civil commitment courts and local detention facilities within CMHC Area 8.
    • Assist with crisis intervention, placement coordination, and service linkage for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
    • Maintain documentation required for indigent contract services, screenings, and hospital placement activities.
    • Coordinate and facilitate hospital placements within Area 8 and provide coverage assistance for Areas 6 and 9 as needed.
    • Serve as a liaison between courts, hospitals, Arkansas State Hospital (ASH), community providers, and families.
    • Attend court hearings and provide testimony as a representative of The Centers for Youth and Families when required.
    • Support diversion court programs and collaborate with court personnel to promote successful client outcomes.
    • Monitor court-ordered clients and assist with tracking compliance with court mandates and treatment recommendations.
    • Manage the behavioral health warm line for non-Centers clients and provide information, referrals, and resource coordination.
    • Connect individuals and families with appropriate inpatient, outpatient, and community-based services.
    • Communicate with hospitals and Arkansas State Hospital regarding revocations, admissions, discharges, and higher levels of care.
    • Assist with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) care coordination, including follow-up contacts and monitoring of time-sensitive service requirements.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and federal standards.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support client care.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    This position is deemed safety-sensitive

    Required

    • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.Current Arkansas licensure as an LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LAC, or other approved master's-level behavioral health license.Valid Arkansas driver's license and reliable transportation.Ability and willingness to travel throughout CMHC Area 8 and surrounding coverage areas as needed.Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.Ability to communicate effectively with courts, hospitals, law enforcement, community providers, and families.

    Preferred

    • Experience in emergency services, crisis intervention, or acute behavioral health settings.Experience working with civil commitment processes, court systems, correctional facilities, or hospital placement coordination.Knowledge of Arkansas behavioral health resources and community mental health systems.

    Work Environment

    This position operates in a combination of office, court, jail, hospital, and community-based settings. The employee may encounter individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and must be able to respond professionally and effectively in high-pressure situations.
