    Emergency Veterinary Assistant

    We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our 24/7 emergency team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in clinical support duties, and is passionate about patient care.

    Schedule & Shift Differentials

    • Day and Night shifts available

    • +$4/hr shift differential for shifts worked Monday–Sunday, 7:00pm–7:00am

    • +$2/hr shift differential for shifts worked Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am–7:00pm

    Position Summary

    The Emergency Veterinary Assistant plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians and technicians in the delivery of high-quality emergency care. This position assists with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and maintaining a safe, efficient clinical environment while providing compassionate support to patients and clients during stressful situations.

    What You’ll Do

    • Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures and treatments

    • Safely restrain and handle patients with compassion and confidence

    • Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed

    • Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas

    • Provide comfort and support to patients throughout their hospital stay

    • Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members in a high-acuity setting

    • Uphold PSVSE standards for safety, cleanliness, and patient care

    What We’re Looking For

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required

    • Prior experience in an emergency or specialty setting preferred

    • Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and compassionate in emergency situations

    • Strong teamwork and communication skills

    • Commitment to learning and continuous improvement

    $20 - $28USD
