Eminent Domain Paralegal | Austin (Downtown)

Join a highly respected Texas-based law firm seeking an experienced Eminent Domain Paralegal to support a busy and collaborative legal team in downtown Austin. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex property and right-of-way matters in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment alongside accomplished attorneys and industry professionals.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: ~$90K to low $100Ks (flexible for highly experienced candidates)
  • Bonus: Discretionary, tied to performance and billable hours
  • Billable Requirement: 1,680 annually
  • Schedule: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote (eligible after ~90 days; potential flexibility sooner)
  • 40-hour work week (8:00-5:00 core hours)
  • Overtime eligible (non-exempt role)
  • PTO: Flexible/discretionary model
  • Parking: ~$240/month (employee-paid, optional)

What You'll Do

  • Support attorneys through all phases of eminent domain and condemnation matters, from pre-litigation through trial and settlement
  • Draft pleadings, notices, correspondence, and discovery materials
  • Maintain organized case files and track deadlines, court dates, and key milestones
  • Review title commitments, surveys, and property descriptions for accuracy
  • Track parcels, ownership details, and acquisition status
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, appraisers, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare hearing and trial materials, including exhibits and witness files
  • Manage logistics for depositions, hearings, and meetings
  • Communicate with clients, landowners, and third parties to gather information and provide updates
  • Conduct legal and property research and maintain detailed documentation

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of paralegal experience (eminent domain, real estate, or litigation preferred)
  • Strong familiarity with title review, surveys, and property-related documentation
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Polished communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with document management systems (iManage preferred)
  • Paralegal certification preferred; bachelor's degree a plus
