Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.The Department of Elementary, Middle Level, Library and Learning Technologies at Kutztown University invites applicants for our temporary adjunct pool in teacher education for the following areas: PreK-4 methods courses in science, math, social studies, and literacy. Middle level (grades 4-8) methods courses in literacy. Student teaching field supervision in both areas. Undergraduate or graduate course offerings could be day or evening. We are seeking colleagues who have a passion for preparing the next generation of teachers. Minimum Qualifications A masters degree in the field of education, with at least 5 years experience teaching in K-8, is required.Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be certified to be placed in our part-time adjunct faculty pool and will remain in the pool while the pool is active. As need arises, applicants in the pool will be considered and contacted for an on-campus interview. During the on-campus interview, a successful interview and demonstration of abilities are required to be selected. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent, experience working with diverse learners is preferred. ESL Endorsement, Special Education Certification, Instructional Coaching Endorsement, and/or interests in teacher inquiry or action research are encouraged.
