The employee will serve as the designated Employee Benefits Consultant for the Employee's current Accounts and may also pursue new business through broker relationships. The employee participates in strategic planning and directs or coordinates Employee Benefits Services for clients and the CIG organization. Direct supervision of 3-5 subordinate employees.

Responsibilities
Leading and growing the employee benefits department, including by:
Developing new carrier relationships and employee benefits product offerings;
Setting sales goals for Employee Benefits Consultants, providing training and
resources to achieve those goals, and coordinating lead opportunities;
Overseeing the management of the account management function and
responsibilities related to benefits, including those involving use of Employee
Navigator and Epic; and
Collaborating with other areas of the business to ensure accurate management
reports and agency, producer, and broker commission payments.
Pursuing strategic clients that drive the growth and profitability of the agency;
Gaining an understanding of insurance and employee benefits knowledge and practices;
and
Developing a strategic niche through networking and marketing with carriers and
industry influencers.
Sell insurance
Prepare proposals and presentations using marketing resources
Design prospect sales strategies and develop prospecting programs
Conduct thorough needs analysis/benefit assessment to uncover prospects/clients unique needs
Provide consultative advice in key benefit areas
Identify and close potential cross-sell opportunities
Travel to employer sites for sales, servicing, enrollment, and education purposes
Manage and train employee benefits account managers and service advocates in their roles in servicing clients.
Develop and maintain the infrastructure needed to serve all employee benefits clients (including both existing and new clients of the Company) at an exceptionally high level.
Client Management:
Maintain consistent / high-quality touch points by phone and face-to-face with clients
Participate in stewardship meetings
Serve as a liaison between employees of clients and insurance companies and service providers
Pipeline Management:
Identify prospects for business from existing and prospective clients
Develop new relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and employee benefit design decisions
Obtain referral leads from existing clients
Aggressively identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities
Participate and take leadership roles in targeted community and professional associations
Threefive years' experience in an insurance setting or 60 hours of college coursework, an associate degree desirable.
