$235,000 – $365,000+

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, and other organizations on sophisticated employee benefits, executive compensation, and transactional benefits matters.

Ideal Background

5+ years of employee benefits and executive compensation experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience advising clients regarding qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, deferred compensation arrangements, equity compensation, incentive compensation, and executive employment arrangements

• Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions through the review and analysis of employee benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements, and employment-related liabilities during legal due diligence

• Experience designing, implementing, and advising clients regarding employee benefit programs and executive compensation structures

• Experience drafting and negotiating equity incentive plans, executive employment agreements, severance agreements, change-in-control agreements, deferred compensation plans, and related documents

• Experience counseling businesses on ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, HIPAA, COBRA, Section 409A, Section 280G, and other employee benefits laws is preferred

• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
