Job Description

Location: 3301 Lewiston St Aurora, CO 80011
Position: Employee Relations Consultant
Pay: $45-$65/hour but flexible depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 3 month minimum, likely through year-end
Schedule/Hours: 20-25 hours/week but hours will vary depending on what issues arise

Extra Notes: Candidate must have their own vehicle and valid driver's license and insurance. They will reimburse for mileage for traveling to the different local job sites.


We'd like to bring on an ER consultant to help with investigations and other employee issues. I'm not sure how many hours/week this person would work or the duration of the assignment (there's a potential it's ongoing). They would need to be able to travel to our offices in Aurora, Denver and possibly field locations in TX, AZ and WY. Below are some of the main responsibilities:
  • Investigate employee complaints, grievances, and workplace concerns in a timely and impartial manner.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving policy violations, harassment, discrimination, attendance, performance, and misconduct.
  • Recommend appropriate corrective actions based on investigation findings.
  • Advise supervisors and managers on employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support disciplinary processes, including verbal warnings, written warnings, suspensions, and terminations.
  • Ensure disciplinary actions are fair, consistent, and legally compliant.
  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Operations on workplace safety concerns that involve employee conduct or corrective action.
  • Track employee relations cases and identify trends.
  • Prepare reports for HR leadership on investigations, disciplinary actions, turnover, and engagement metrics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations, HR, or labor relations, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in construction/manufacturing industry a plus.
