Position Summary SB Administrative Services, LLC, which provides administrative support services to Stony Brook Community Medical, P.C. and Meeting House Lane Medical Practice, is seeking an experienced and collaborative Employee Relations Specialist. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, this position serves as a key resource for fostering positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies, and supporting a respectful, inclusive, and productive workplace culture. The Employee Relations Specialist will partner with leaders and employees across the organization to address workplace concerns, conduct investigations, provide guidance on employment-related matters, and support employee engagement and retention initiatives. - Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management regarding employee relations issues, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace issues.
- Prepare investigation reports, maintain documentation, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with managers and department leaders to resolve employee concerns and promote effective conflict resolution.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors on performance management, employee conduct, disciplinary actions, and workplace best practices.
- Support the administration of progressive discipline processes, performance improvement plans, and employee separations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, NYS labor laws, and related requirements.
- Monitor workplace trends and identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs related to workplace conduct, harassment prevention, respectful workplace practices, and employee relations.
- Partner with HR leadership on policy development, review, and implementation.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Prepare reports, metrics, and analyses related to employee relations activities and trends.
- Participate in special HR projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
