Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

This hybrid role will support employee relations, workplace investigations, HR policy guidance, supervisor coaching, and employment compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong employee relations experience along with exposure to union-related issues, including employees working in unionized environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key employee relations contact for supervisors, HR partners, and business leaders.
  • Provide guidance on workplace concerns, performance issues, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Investigate employee complaints, misconduct allegations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee relations cases.
  • Support HR policy updates, employee communications, supervisor training, and engagement initiatives.
  • Identify workplace trends and recommend practical solutions to reduce risk and improve employee relationsPartner with HR, legal, and operational leadership on complex or sensitive workplace matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in employee relations, labor relations, HR, or employment law-related environments.
  • Experience with union-related employee relations issues or supporting employees working in unionized settings.
  • Strong background conducting workplace investigations and advising leaders on corrective action and risk mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, ADEA, and NLRA.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sound judgment when handling sensitive workplace matters.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, case management tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • HR certification or master’s degree preferred.
