Employment Attorney

A growing law firm is looking to add an experienced Employment Attorney to its team. This is an opportunity for an attorney with strong experience representing both employers and employees across litigation, transactional matters, counseling, and negotiation. This law firm is based in Detroit, Michigan. 

The role will focus on:

• Employment litigation in state and federal court, including depositions, discovery, motions, and trial as needed.

• Drafting and negotiating employment and severance agreements, including complex executive severance packages involving equity, stock options, and vesting.

• Counseling employers on terminations, discipline, personnel matters, and risk management.

• Counseling employees regarding potential claims, non-competes, and their legal options.

• Drafting and negotiating pre-litigation demand letters and settlements.

The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on employment law experience. This is not a role for someone who has only occasionally handled employment agreements or employment matters.

Qualifications & Compensation

• JD and active Michigan Bar license

• Strong employment litigation and transactional experience

• $100,000–$200,000+ base salary

• Strong bonus structure 

• 401(k) with match

• PTO

• On-site to start and then opportunity for fully remote or hybrid whichever the candidate prefers
