Note: Must have a Washington State bar license and 4+ years of directly relevant employment litigation experience. Strong candidates will have management-side experience handling wage and hour class actions, state and federal litigation, administrative matters, and alternative dispute resolution.

Job Description

  • Represent management-side clients in a broad range of employment and labor disputes.
  • Handle employment litigation matters in Washington state and federal courts from case assessment through resolution.
  • Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and take and defend depositions.
  • Represent clients before administrative agencies, including the EEOC and Washington Human Rights Commission.
  • Handle wage and hour class actions and other complex employment litigation.
  • Advise clients regarding wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, ADA, FMLA, non-compete, trade secret, and related employment matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving issues such as harassment, discrimination, ethics violations, and other sensitive workplace concerns.
  • Provide practical employment counseling involving employment agreements, severance packages, workplace policies, and compliance.
  • Conduct sophisticated legal research and prepare persuasive briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and clients to develop efficient, practical strategies for resolving employment disputes.

Qualifications

  • Washington State bar license required.
  • 4+ years of employment litigation experience required.
  • Management-side employment law experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with state and federal court proceedings, administrative agency matters, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage litigation matters independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Excellent judgment, dependability, emotional intelligence, and empathy.
  • Experience with wage and hour class actions is highly valued.
  • Existing client relationships or a portable book of business is welcome but not required.
