Our customer, a global technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Employment Litigation Counsel to join its Employment Legal team on a 12-month engagement. This role has been created to support a growing volume of employment-related litigation and will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of disputes from initial assessment through resolution.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned employment attorney with significant experience in employment litigation and counseling, capable of working independently and providing practical, business-focused legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite)
Duration: 12 months, with potential extension
Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-time)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: $100-$120/hr. (on W2), commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage a broad range of employment matters, including pre-litigation disputes, administrative agency charges, single-plaintiff claims, and complex employment litigation.
Partner closely with Human Resources, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders to provide strategic employment law counsel.
Develop litigation strategies, direct case management activities, and oversee outside counsel as needed.
Evaluate legal and business risks and deliver practical, solution-oriented recommendations.
Advise on employment law compliance, workplace investigations, and employee relations matters.
Provide support for overflow litigation and assist with day-to-day legal matters handled by the Employment Legal team.
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and legal communications.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing employment law, including substantial employment litigation experience.
Proven ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Experience counseling Human Resources and business leaders on employment-related legal issues.
Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while exercising sound legal judgment.
