Recreation Direct Support Professional Job Summary
As a member of the Recreation and Family Services Team, under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, assists and leads adaptive recreational and social activities for individuals 16 years and older in a program based on individual needs and interests.
Hours of responsibility:
Monday 3pm - 6pm
Tuesday 3pm - 6pm
Wednesday 3pm - 6pm
Thursday 3pm - 6pm
Friday 3pm - 6pm
Saturday and/or Sundays 9am - 6pm
Hourly rateof pay $19.00 - $23.00 based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include but no limited to the follow):
1) Assist in supporting and supervising individuals' activities in the afternoons, Friday nights and Saturdays for adults and teens with disabilities.
2) Complete attendance for all activities.
3) Consistently utilizes positive behavior supports and ensures that all other staff does the same.

Your qualifications:
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities. Experience in human services field a plus.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to drive large passenger vans or willingness to be trained.
Maintain required certifications in CPR, first aid, infectious diseases and other classes (provided)

In programs requiring pre-employment drug testing, identified employees will undergo drug testing for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and phencyclidines (PCP). These individuals will also be required to undergo testing upon reasonable suspicion of being under the influence and after any accident whenever consumers are on board at the time of the accident. Post-accident testing for alcohol must occur within 8 hours of the accident and drug testing within 32 hours of the accident.
