GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, this position provides customer service to individuals seeking employment and training services, ensuring their qualifications and needs are properly assessed and addressed. Services are delivered in accordance with federal and state program guidelines, policies, and regulations.
This role coordinates and executes a broad range of employment and training services while developing, managing, and monitoring a caseload of participants enrolled in state and federal programs. The position interviews, assesses, and evaluates customers to identify employment, training, and vocational needs, and provides guidance and counseling to claimants and job applicants. Applicants may be referred to employment opportunities or other community resources that support their goals.
The position works closely with employers to understand workforce needs, develop and fill employment and vocational training openings, and provide information about coordinated services, training grants, and other resources available through the Department of Workforce Services. Responsibilities may include conducting on-site visits with businesses to better understand their operations, job openings, and workforce needs.
Additional duties include entering and monitoring data in electronic systems for job postings, candidate searches, and program reporting; referring applicants to employers and following up on the hiring process; organizing and participating in community events that connect job seekers with employers; and collaborating with program staff to ensure compliance with Department of Labor case management standards. This position is expected to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
