  • You will be provides a consistent, courteous, and timely care experience for patients arriving by EMS. 
  • You will collaborate with the clinical nurse coordinator (CNC) to adequately plan for the arrival of inbound patients and supports processes to ensure the timely initiation of care for all patients. 
  • You will be responsible for greeting and offloading all EMS arrivals during the scheduled shift. 
  • You will collaborate with EMS partners to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. 
  • You will assist in managing department flow through coordination with the assigned CNC. 
  • You will provide recommendations related to the EMS offloading process. 
  • You will recommend and implement courses of action including training and development of relief EMS RNs. 
  • You will be responsible for properly receiving the patient and initiating patient care. 
  • You will properly and safely hand off each patient to receive RN for continuity of care. 
  • You will function as a clinical resource for staff members and assist in necessary education of the nursing staff when not offloading EMS. 
  • You will prepare and ensure equipment in the EMS offload area is stocked and functional. 
  • You will participate in educational and training events with hospital staff and EMS agencies. 

What qualifications you will need for this role: 

  • Current RN licensure 
  • BCLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC - within 90 days of hire 
  • ENPC - within 90 days of hire 
  • CPI
  • Minimum of three (3) years of ED RN experience Required 
  • BSN or current enrollment in a Baccalaureate Nursing Program Required 
  • Prehospital work experience
