Operations Manager – HVAC / Building Automation
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations within a commercial HVAC and building automation environment. This role is responsible for overseeing service and project execution, supporting field teams, and ensuring work is delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage people, prioritize workload, and keep both service and project operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily service and project activity across the team
- Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop field and technical teams
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and reliability
Project & Service Execution
- Support delivery of installation, service, and retrofit work
- Help resolve operational or technical issues impacting timelines
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
Customer Support
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Address escalations and ensure overall service quality
- Support customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
Performance & Process Improvement
- Monitor productivity and operational performance
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflows
- Help standardize processes across service and project work
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with company and job site requirements
Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC, mechanical services, building automation, or a related field
- Leadership experience managing teams, projects, or field operations
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills with both internal teams and customers
