The Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) is seeking a motivated, experienced, and service-driven professional to serve as the Fire-EMS Training Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in shaping the skills, knowledge, and readiness of the department's members through comprehensive fire and emergency medical services (EMS) training programs.

Under the direction of the Training and Safety Division Chief, the EMS Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, delivering, and overseeing all EMS training activities within the fire department. Core duties include supporting annual training priorities, goals, and objectives; conducting initial certification and continuing education programs; performing competency evaluations for fire personnel; providing classroom and field instruction; assisting with maintaining accurate training records; and managing assigned programs and projects.
This position is part of the Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) critical workforce and is subject to call-back. During disaster or emergency activation of the CCFD Incident Management Team, the EMS Training Coordinator may serve as the Resource Unit Leader, a Division/Group Supervisor, or other assigned roles.
When not performing instructional or supervisory duties, the incumbent may function as a Community Paramedic and may fill shifts on the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) as needed. This dual-role capability ensures operational efficiency and supports continuity of care in both community paramedicine and behavioral health crisis response.
The Fire Chief may assign the EMS Training Coordinator to additional special projects or administrative tasks in support of CCFD's mission, vision, and organizational goals.

Background and Motor Vehicle History Investigation:
Applicants must undergo an extensive national background investigation in accordance with the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (GFSTC) rules and regulations. Applicants for uniformed firefighting positions must not have the following automatic disqualifiers:

Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.

CHATHAM COUNTY BENEFITS PLANS
Eligibility for benefits begins on your date of hire.
Full-time employees working a regular schedule of 30 or more hours per week are eligible for County benefits. Part-time, seasonal, and temporary employees are not eligible to participate in the County benefit plan. However, regular part-time employees accrue prorated vacation and sick leave based on their schedule.
HEALTH - Employees have a choice between a high or low option point-of-service health plan for themselves, their spouse, and eligible dependent children.
VISION - The vision plan offers a comprehensive eye exam and options for frames, lenses, and contact lenses.
DENTAL - Employees may choose either the high or low dental plan option with two cleanings per year and periodic x-rays at no cost.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH CENTER - Employees and their spouses on the County's health plan have access to the Employee Health Center for physical and behavioral health services, health coaching, and lab services at no cost.
RETIREMENT - Chatham County provides a Defined Benefit Pension Plan with a five-year vesting period.
LIFE & DISABILITY - Long Term Disability and basic Life Insurance coverage are provided at no cost to employees. Employees may also purchase additional life coverage for themselves and their dependent family members.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS - Chatham County offers Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts through payroll deduction. The Medical FSA has a rollover feature equal to the annual Federal maximum.
