Position Summary:

The Boston Children's Hospital Critical Care Transport Team utilizes Emergency Medical Technicians to work collaboratively with the clinical team and the communication center, delivering safe, efficient, family-centered care to patients requiring critical care in transit. The EMT works within their scope of practice, following all team, hospital, and Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services policies and protocols.

Starting salary $27/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing transport equipment.
  • Operating the Boston Children's Hospital ambulance.
  • Managing radio critical care transport team telephone requests.
  • Manage Emergency Department referrals ("expects") from the region.
  • Arranging ambulance discharges from Boston Children's Hospital.
  • Trauma activations.
  • Coordinating the transfer of diagnostic images.
  • Facilitating telemedicine consults with several hospital emergency departments.
  • 36hrs; rotating days/nights and weekends. Eligible for full time benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • A Minimum of 3 years EMT experience required.
  • Experience in a 911 system is preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to work on a team.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Massachusetts Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Massachusetts driver's license/or equivalent.
  • This role is eligible for a $5,000.00 sign on bonus (not eligible for internal candidates and not eligible for former BCH employees who worked here in the past 2 years).

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
