Physical Requirements

This position requires performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working at heights above four feet; and exposure to risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; loud noises; temperature extremes; and blood-borne/airborne pathogens; intermittently requires working in confined spaces; and occasionally requires job-related travel (less than 10% of time), exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.

Shift

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts (8:45 a.m. - 9:15 p.m.) per week; will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The AEMT at UKHC is primarily responsible for providing high-quality medical care during interfacility ambulance transports. They ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients, adhering to established protocols and maintaining a strong commitment to patient and team safety, service excellence, and professional development. This position will be limited to ambulance operations and will not operate within the emergency department.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Basic medical terminology and computer skills.

Two years of related experience highly preferred.
