Job description:
We are looking for an Encapsulation Machine Operator and Mechanic who will be responsible to perform all manufacturing activities to ensure daily targets are met or exceeded. Manufacturing includes, but is not limited to: cleaning, equipment assembly/disassembly, setup, and processing as per the product batch record and associated SOPs. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) assuring that quality is upheld.
The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, operate, and monitor encapsulation machinery according to production specifications.
- Perform routine mechanical maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on equipment to support reliable operation as per the product batch record and associated SOPs
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance or supervisory staff as needed.
- Document production data, equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities as required.
- Follow safety procedures, GMP guidelines, SOPs and company policies at all times.
- Operate machinery such as bottlers, powder mixers, encapsulators, etc.
- Train others on how to operate and perform basic maintenance on machines
- Work with other mechanics to develop creative solutions to fix machines that might be out of warranty, missing a manual, or need third party fabrication
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating and/or maintaining production or packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve basic equipment issues.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production documentation.
- Ability to lift (up to 50 lbs), stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift as needed.
- Prior experience with encapsulation, tablet, or similar pharmaceutical or nutraceutical equipment.
- Background in mechanical maintenance, machine operation, or industrial equipment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or other regulated manufacturing practices.
