Description: We are a collaborative END Tech Team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. As an END Tech II, you will perform all department procedures and assists with the supervision other technicians as well as assists management in technical accountability of service lines.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of two years professional experience in neurodiagnostics procedures or a minimum of one yr experience in Surgical Monitoring or one yr experience in neuro and is registered, required. 
  • Licensure/Certification: Registry eligible or registered/certified in a neurodiagnostic field, required. 
  • Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)’ age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Maintain CPR. Able to identify basic cardiac rhythm and rate. Must be able to rotate call independently. Must be able to interpret basic encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal. Must be able to rotate weekend shifts and or call independently. Must be able to assist Neurologists in the basic interpretation of encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Able to identify basic cardiac rhythm and rate. Assist and identify the basic interpretation of encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal.
What You'll Do:
  • Trains technical staff.
  • Performs patient diagnostic procedures such as EEG’s and LTM including correctly charging and assigning completed exams.
  • Promotes the availability and provision of neurophysiology services.         
  • Complies and supports organization and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clinical and professional competency, according to department policies, procedures, and protocols, as appropriate for the age of patient(s) served.       
  • Attends yearly Continuing Education on infection control and safety.
  • Maintain knowledge of current practices and techniques.
  • Human Experience: Show courage through creating and sharing innovative ideas to improve the experience for both patients and peers. Round on patients to create meaningful connections and keep patients informed of visit details (delays/wait times). Model the experience principles through consistently engaging in Always Event behaviors and viewing feedback through the patient lens. Recognize and value the unique differences and similarities in both our team members and patients to create an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated. Explain all processes to patients in plain language and utilize teach back to ensure understanding.
