Step into a role where your planning expertise directly enables patients to receive life-changing therapies. As an End-to-End Material Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless production execution by translating plans into action so materials are available on time, at the right quality and cost. You’ll partner across Production, Quality, Warehouse and Finance to keep operations running smoothly, optimize inventory, and strengthen supplier performance—driving reliability, efficiency, and impact at every step.


 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans aligned with forecasts, production schedules, and usage trends
  • Convert production needs into accurate purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring timely material availability
  • Continuously adjust plans to respond to changing demand, supply constraints, and production priorities
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure quality, reliable delivery, and timely issue resolution
  • Monitor inventory levels to balance service, cost efficiency, and obsolescence risk
  • Own Materials Planning & Supplier Operations performance metrics, driving insights to improve reliability and performance
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and seamless production execution
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement and Quality to resolve supply risks and supplier performance gaps.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in material planning, purchasing, or supply chain roles
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other cGMP regulated environments
  • Strong data analysis skills using tools such as Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Tableau.  Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and material requirements planning systems (MRP), including as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

The salary for this position is expected to range between $ 85,400 and 158,600 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors. Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
