The Endoscopy Technician provides critical support to the endoscopy team by ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care during diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role is responsible for assisting physicians and nurses throughout standard and advanced procedures, preparing and troubleshooting endoscopic equipment, and maintaining a sterile, organized environment to uphold infection control standards. Additionally, the technician oversees endoscope reprocessing, manages inventory, and ensures regulatory compliance, including accurate documentation and bi directional scope tracking. By combining technical expertise with patient-centered practices, the Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in procedural readiness, patient safety, and operational excellence across all endoscopy suites.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

License/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Mandatory Reporter Certification

Experience:

  • 1 year healthcare experience

Other:

  • Knowledge of preoperative and postoperative care, including patient positioning, draping, and dressing application.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software to efficiently manage patient data, appointments, and clinical workflows.
  • Ability to monitor emergency alarms (Fire, Medical Emergency, Panic, etc.), adhere to protocols for rapid responses, and effectively manage and disseminate critical information during emergencies or crisis situations.
