Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in the Endoscopy unit to provide care to patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures in a setting that fosters culture and age specific care. Functions within the policies, practice guidelines, procedures and physician directives at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and the Department of Nursing in accordance with the Massachusetts Rules and Regulations for Ancillary Health Care Providers, CDC and OSHA standards, and any other applicable regulatory or accreditation agency.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assist with providing care to patients undergoing and endoscopic procedures • Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology • Demonstrates knowledge and competence of laser operation and safety • Current cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and troubleshooting for all endoscopy related equipment and devices • Is able to work well with others and with minimal supervision; previous endoscopy experience essential • Successful completion of hospital orientation • Basic computer skills • Previous medical/surgical experience necessary (one year minimum); endoscopy or O.R. technician; acute medical/surgical care nursing preferred

Salary Range: $19.85-$30.05
