Endoscopy Technician

Location: Syracuse, New York (NY)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to support advanced gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures in a fast-paced procedural environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience assisting physicians during advanced endoscopy cases and maintaining specialized endoscopy equipment.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy Technician experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience assisting physicians with advanced endoscopy procedures required
  • Previous experience in a hospital-based endoscopy department preferred

Required Certifications

  • BLS Certification

Preferred Certifications

  • Endoscopy Technician Certification
  • ACLS Certification

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during endoscopic and advanced GI procedures
  • Prepare patients and procedural rooms prior to procedures
  • Set up, test, and maintain endoscopy equipment and supplies
  • Collect, label, and transport specimens according to established protocols
  • Clean and restock procedure rooms between cases
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate repairs or loaner equipment when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the healthcare team
