The Endoscopy Technician has responsibility to provide direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner.

AHA BLS Certification

Experience Requirements:

  1. Year of acute care experience in a patient care-related position
  2. Experience Preferred: 3 years of work experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting

Education/Training Requirements:

  1. High School Graduate or equivalent
  2. Education/Training Preferred: Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program and appropriate certification based on program completed

Independent Actions Required:

Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure.

Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes, legal issues, directed care which deviates from standard, and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs.

Additional Position Requirements:

Endoscopy Techs work day shift until the work of the day is complete. Individual schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.

Schedules, including requirements of hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
