West Hospital - Endoscopy Technician I

Job Summary:
The Endoscopy Technician performs competent inspection and reprocessing of all re-usable department supplies, instruments, and equipment in accordance with organization policy and procedures. The Endoscopy Technician I, demonstrates knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for reprocessing and ensures that all re-usable supplies, instruments, and equipment are processed, tracked, and stored in accordance with organization policy and procedure
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates disinfection principles to correctly leak test, manually clean, validate cleaning and disinfect all re-usable endoscopy supplies, instruments, and equipment in strict accordance with the organization policy and procedure.
Inspects supplies, instruments, and equipment for cleanliness and functionality.
Operates Automated Endoscopic Reprocessors (AER) and other reprocessing equipment according to organization policy and procedure. Demonstrates accurate documentation of process, tracking and logs as required.
Demonstrates infection control practices with personal protective equipment, hand washing, aseptic techniques cleaning and disinfection of all instruments and equipment according to organization policy and procedure.
Monitoring channel check process on specialty scopes to ensure appropriate pre-cleaning and reprocessing is occurring for patient safety.
Promote organizational behavioral based expectations and supports organizations efforts to exceed Key Performance Indicator goals. Strives to provide quality patient care that demonstrates stewardship and management of valuable organization and human resources.
