Position Overview
Direct Counsel represents a top AmLaw 100 firm seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate. This mission-driven practice handles high-stakes matters for independent power producers, large consumers, grid-edge companies, and transmission developers.
Key Responsibilities
Draft highly persuasive FERC pleadings.
Navigate Federal Power Act matters (Sections 203, 205, 206).
Advise on RTO/ISO market design and PURPA.
Manage compliance, enforcement, and generation interconnection.
Qualifications
2–6 years of FERC or law firm energy regulatory experience.
Elite writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
Superior academic credentials.
Plus: Experience with ERCOT, RTO stakeholders, or state regulation.
Compensation & Financials
Base Salary: $235,000 - $390,000 (Based on class year).
Bonus: Discretionary merit bonuses.
Professional Fees: Firm-paid CLE, bar review, and bar dues.
