Job Title: Energy Efficiency Specialist



Location: South Plainfield, NJ



Work Mode: Hybrid – currently 3 days in-office per week

Pay: 60 - 90/hr, W 2

Provide Multifamily program management oversight over scope, schedule, and budget of energy efficiency projects in compliance with the BPU Order and *** procedures. Ensure projects meet all program requirements, including project scope and cost effectiveness. Develop and maintain the processes for implementing energy efficiency projects and programs in accordance with requirements for the Multifamily program

Interface with *** associates, vendors, customers, and outside consultants to assure the Program rules and requirements are maintained, the projects are cost effective, and the information needed for management and regulatory reporting is accurate and timely. Perform and oversee program and project QA/QC as required; Apply knowledge in energy savings measures and techniques to program and project oversight. Need to be familiar with residential and commercial energy efficiency program incentive structures.

Manage customer relationships to provide program services with a high level of customer satisfaction. Coordinate and direct the activities of vendors and contractors. Review vendor deliverables. Monitor vendor performance and review/process vendor invoices. Ensure vendor and employee compliance with safety protocols and practices.

Compile and analyze data from various projects / sources to monitor the status of customer projects and report to management. Projects may include the installation of various energy conservation measures (ECMs) such as HVAC, lighting, motors, energy management systems, etc., as appropriate for the program. (needs experience with this.)  Analyze performance results for management reports; Provide monthly project status forecasts. Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as necessary.

Summary:

  • Provide program management oversight for energy efficiency projects.
  • Ensure compliance with BPU Order and program requirements.
  • Develop and maintain processes for implementing energy efficiency projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of energy efficiency projects.
  • Interface with company associates, vendors, customers, and outside consultants.
  • Ensure projects are cost-effective and meet program requirements.
  • Perform and oversee program and project QA/QC.
  • Manage customer relationships to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Coordinate vendor and contractor activities; review deliverables and invoices.
  • Compile and analyze data to monitor and report project status.
  • Conduct project site visits as required.


Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree plus 5 years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or related fields, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in processing milestone-based construction payments and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency measures, implementation, and cost.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel & MS Word).
  • Commitment to process improvement and attention to detail.
  • Able to travel within company territory; valid US driver's license.

  • Vendor management.
  • Invoicing skills.
