We re looking for a highly motivated Engineering Technician who will work closely with Test Engineers. You will assist with product preparation and test, interface with other teams to plan and execute product and component certifications. Support the development and realization of automated test systems and manage test assets. Install and setup test samples and infrastructure (equipment).
You'll be required to work on extra-low voltage, low voltage and high voltage systems both within Tesla and external testing facilities. Maintain daily operations in a lab envireonment including the purchasing of consumables, equipment and services including calibration management.
Prepare and instrument test samples, execute tests, record, and analyze results on power electronics and battery storage systems
Assist with testing at in-house and local contract laboratories
Support the debug of products and sub-systems
Support the build and test of automated test equipment and peripherals
Carry out duties as defined by the engineers
Contribute to mechanical fixture setup/teardown, and harness builds
Operate tests using water ingress, temperature, and vibration through high voltage related equipment
Design, build, and dismantle mechanical fixtures, often using T-slotted aluminum extrusion
3+ years' experience in a lab environment
Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, High Voltage/Power Electronics experience
