Energy Performance Specialist

We are currently seeking an individual with a strong background in developing energy management systems and process improvement strategies.  The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting and improving energy and resource management activities at Hill Air Force Base.  This position involves:

• Improving the energy-efficient operation of key facilities, equipment and control systems
• Addressing demand reduction
• Researching and facilitating energy conservation and resiliency opportunities
• Research and facilitate funding opportunities
• Developing and implementing and Energy Management System based on ISO 50001 requirements
• Supporting utility management functions utilizing NexGen (TRIRIGA) reports, resale rates, and tenant energy allocation
• Supporting maintenance and development of data management initiatives including Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Energy Management and Control System (EMCS)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
• Incorporating data from initiatives above into the overarching Energy Management System
• Using information management systems, spreadsheets, meter and billing databases to identify process and energy consumption and cost improvement
• Generating required reports, charts, and documentation per ISO 50001 requirements
• Identifying anomalies in facility energy use
• Working with Facility Managers and shop personnel to field check and diagnose usage anomalies
• Recommending actions to correct problems
• Developing economic analyses to justify funding to correct significant anomalies

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Experience developing energy management systems
• Experience developing and implementing process improvement strategies
• Experience creating energy performance indexes
• Training or certification as an ISO 50001 Internal Auditor
• Familiarity with the U.S. Air Force Standard regulations, policies, and procedures
• Knowledge and understanding of industrial DoD installations
• Experience with tenant reimbursable customers

Hours:

• Full Time (40 hours per week)
• Flexible hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday
