What You'll Do:
• Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in accordance with approved course and program standards.
• Teach oil and gas production, productivity, regulatory compliance, and related energy topics.
• Provide safe, hands-on instruction in the proper use, maintenance, storage, and housekeeping of equipment and materials.
• Develop course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials.
• Use effective teaching strategies, technology, and assessment methods to support diverse learning styles and measure student progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, progress records, and required academic documentation.
• Be accessible to students during scheduled office hours and respond to inquiries within established college guidelines.
• Advise, mentor, tutor, and refer students to appropriate academic, career, and support services.
• Support student recruitment, registration, retention, job placement, and advancement to additional education or training.
• Build and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to strengthen employment opportunities and workforce training.
• Participate in Program Advisory Committee meetings, college events, professional development, committees, and departmental activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, equipment, and industry alignment.
• Comply with policies, accreditation standards, applicable laws, safety requirements, and professional expectations.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive, professional, and supportive learning environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited college or university; or
• Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and at least five years of experience in energy or oil and gas production operations.
• Knowledge of oil and gas production operations and regulatory compliance.
• Effective instructional and classroom-management skills.
• Commitment to student success and a student-centered learning environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with computers and instructional technology.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and meet required deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, college departments, and industry partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
• College or high-school-level teaching experience in energy production, oil and gas, or a related discipline.
• Experience with hands-on technical instruction, workforce training, or industry credentialing.
