    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor"s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring commercial agreements or leading business development.
    • Experience in the energy industry, power generation or infrastructure development.
    • Experience building and managing external partner relationships, such as with utilities, equipment manufacturers, or independent power producers (IPPs).

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Experience with independent power producers or in investment finance with a focus on power systems infrastructure.
    • Experience managing the full agreement life-cycle for complex power generation projects.
    • Experience in financial modeling of deals.
    • Deep knowledge of power generation, renewable energy grid integration, least-cost generation planning, and energy finance.
    • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with technical and business stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to transition bespoke deals into systematic, scalable programmatic approaches across a high-volume portfolio.

As Google"s products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google"s future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google"s infrastructure growth. You"ll work with specific project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting recommendations to Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

    As an Energy Strategic Negotiator within the Power Generation Solutions team, your mission is to secure the vital power generation capacity that powers the future of AI. By originating, structuring, and negotiating forward-thinking contracts with power solutions providers, you will unlock critical power capacity in highly constrained territories.

    You will be responsible for developing and managing innovative power generation solutions to support Google"s data center fleet growth, integrating them within Google"s operations, and mitigating risks. You will be responsible for originating, structuring and negotiating agreements with solution providers and equipment manufacturers, and expanding power supply options in power-constrained territories. You will be part of teams negotiating site-specific power contracts based on innovative generation solutions, including onsite generation. You will be a key contributor to power capacity procurement efforts and engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure the solutions proposed are technically, socially and environmentally sound, supporting Google"s commitment to build and deploy AI responsibly.Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running.     Responsibilities

    • Develop generation solutions and standard terms to fulfill Google"s data center power needs under uncertainty, aligning with business priorities such as speed-to-market, carbon-free energy, availability, and cost.
    • Lead the origination, structuring, and negotiation of power contracts with generation solutions providers, equipment manufacturers, and utilities to procure long-lead equipment and accelerate data center capacity in power-constrained regions.
    • Develop, lead, and review agreement approvals and transaction-related materials with senior executives, collaborating closely with cross-functional partner teams including Engineering, Finance, and Legal.
    • Support site-specific project deployment planning, monitor the portfolio of contracted long-lead equipment, and effectively manage capacity allocations and reservations.
    • Analyze industry trends and identify new opportunities to develop simple, creative solutions that meet Google"s evolving energy goals and data center infrastructure needs.
